The Gift Mystery is a Christmas-themed contemporary circus piece that combines circus, dance, and music into a visually and narratively impactful 30-minute performance. In the performance, two circus artists (Liina Leppänen and Saana Leppänen) perform alongside singer-dancer Ida Teeri. The instrumental soundscape of the piece is composed by the French Thibaud Rancoeur, whose compositions merge with the songs sung by Ida Teeri, creating a cohesive whole. The performance features a variety of circus techniques, such as handstands, aerial rope acrobatics, hair suspension, and hula hoops, blending seamlessly with music, dance, and the story.
The story of the piece follows the search for a mysteriously lost gift package, during which elf-like mishaps, cooperation, and the magic of Christmas bring joy, warmth, and insights to the audience. The goal of the performance is to offer high-quality and accessible culture, especially for children and families.
